So you’re renovating your bathroom and you want to include a shower. It might be a very minimal corner shower or you might have planned a magnificent shower for two. Either way it will have to be a very practical space that works for you. Here’s how.
Some like the built in shampoo niche while others will prefer a more traditional soap basket. Make sure you think of what you usually use while showering for a realistic set up.
You might want to have a full bench or simply a narrow ledge just to rest your foot when shaving or hey maybe you’re applying nail polish - who said the water was on? This option might be a simpler addition to your shower than you might think.
Your shower control don’t need to be bellow the actual shower. Have you mastered that technique where you’re super quick at turning it on so you don’t get the first hit of cold water? Fear no more! Locate the controls near the entrance of the shower, turn it on, wait 5 seconds and you’re good to go. You’re welcome.
Wether you’re all about the body jets or looking for the biggest rain shower you can get, make sure you don’t forget a hand shower. You can get one on a bar and use it in the same way you would a shower head or have it on a hook which gives a nice low profile look. A hand shower has more pressure than a rain shower so it’s totally practical for those with thick or long hair. Not to mention you will enjoy having it handy for rinsing or washing your shower.
Don’t forget lighting in your shower! It’ super important. I like to have the shower lighting on a separate light switch than the rest of the general lighting and bonus- on a dimmer. Easier to start the morning this way and can also be used as a nightlight. Win!
Some call it clarvista, others microtek, there are other terms used as well but basically it’s protection for your glass, usually backed by a guarantee and installed by the manufacturer, which helps keep it clean. All you have to do it squeegee after your shower and it stays really nice. Obviously regular upkeep can’t be disregarded but this allows you to enjoy clear glass on your day to day. Don’t use vim or any other abrasive products as this will wear it away quickly.
